Ok, since the last post had to do with the bunad, I thought I’d elaborate a bit more!

For those of you who don’t know, the bunad is like the national costume. It’s the traditional clothing.

●Norway has been participating in the Eurovision Song Contest since 1960 making for a total of 50 appearances.
●Norway has only been absent twice. In 1970, when they boycotted the contest over disagreements about the voting structure, and in 2002, when they did not qualify.
●Norway has scored the most nul points in competition history, namely four times.
●Norway has come last ten times, which is also a record.
●Norway has won the contest in 1985 with Bobbysock’s performance of “La der swinge”, in 1995 with Secret Garden’s “Nocturne”, and in 2009 with Alexander Rybak’s “Fairytale”.
●In 2009 Norway achieved three new records. Norway received the most votes in Eurovision history winning 387 points, getting the highest amount of twelve points in single contest and the having the biggest gap between first and second place.
●The Eurovision Song Contest is broadcast in Norway by Norsk rikskringkasting (NRK), which also broadcasts Norway’s national selection competition, the Melodi Grand Prix.
